Lawyers – Litigation and Commercial Law

Opportunities now exist to work in our dynamic practice with challenging work in the following 2 positions and areas of practice.

The positions are suited to lawyers who are passionate about the law, have excellent research, technical and communication skills and ability to deal with a range of complex issues, often requiring creative and novel approaches.

The work can be challenging and leading edge. Both of these positions provide an opportunity for lawyers to develop skills and venture into new and emerging technologies.

1.    Commercial Lawyer – 2 years plus PAE

Working in commercial law you will be focusing on commercial transactions and regulatory compliance in the areas of competition and consumer law, advertising, supply of therapeutic goods, cosmetic and food products and privacy.

A science, biomedical or pharmacy degree combined with a law degree is a pre-requisite for this position.

Salary based on level of experience with incentive based on KPI achievements.

2.    Commercial Litigation Lawyer – 2 years plus PAE

Working in commercial litigation in the Federal Court, State courts and tribunals with focus on intellectual property, consumer law, contractual, technology and privacy law disputes.

You will have direct involvement with cases working closely with directors of the firm and also have client contact. Our clients range from individuals to small and medium businesses and international corporations from diverse sectors- ranging from creative arts and design, film, technology, health services and pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry.

This commercial litigation position is suited to lawyers who have been involved in all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution including drafting of correspondence, court documents, witness statements, discovery and evidence analysis, preparation of briefs to counsel, directions hearings and interlocutory applications, mediations and final hearings.  This position will also provide opportunities for lawyers to develop skills in commercial law including risk management and compliance, minimizing risks of disputes and regulatory action.

Salary based on level of experience with incentive based on KPI achievements.


Seeking Expressions of Interest from Lawyers with their own existing client base

Stephens Lawyers & Consultants is interested in receiving expressions of interest from lawyers who have their own existing client base and would be interested in joining our legal practice.  The firm’s practice currently focuses on commercial law and litigation with expertise in intellectual property, defamation, competition and consumer law, franchising, information technology, privacy and data protection, biotechnology, media, entertainment and the arts.  Ideally suited to someone who also thrives in an intellectually challenging environment and looking at working in a team environment. Remuneration package negotiable.


Legal Practice Experience Placements

The firm is pleased to receive applications from eligible students who also have a business or IT Degree (in addition to Law) and are wishing to complete a placement with our firm as part of their approved University course (Law Faculty) or College of Law study requirements.
