Rochina Iannella joined Stephens Lawyers & Consultants in August 2013.  She is a Consultant to the firm and is based in Sydney, New South Wales.

Rochina Iannella’s expertise covers commercial and intellectual property law including copyright protection and licensing; copyright clearances, visual arts and design; film funding applications; film production and distribution; film option agreements; music recording, publishing and distribution agreements, business structuring for film production, publishers, musicians, bands, artists and galleries – as well as experience advising in respect of defamation and privacy law.

Rochina Iannella has over 20 years of legal experience in Sydney and Melbourne, including 4 years as the Senior Legal Officer at the Arts Law Centre of Australia (Sydney) and as the Legal Manager at Film Victoria (Melbourne). She has also held positions as a solicitor and lawyer in corporate and private law firm environments specialising in commercial and copyright law with particular emphasis on the music, film and visual arts industries.

Rochina Iannella has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University and a Master of Laws (specialising in Media, Communications and Intellectual Property Law) from the University of New South Wales. She has participated on the board of a number of not-for-profit organisations including Open Channel (Melbourne), ArtSpace Contemporary Art Space (Sydney) and the Australian Screen Directors Authorship Collecting Society (Sydney).  Rochina has also been an artistic advisor on the Kingston City Council Public Art Advisory Panel (Melbourne).

Rochina Iannella is passionate about visual arts and has worked within the visual arts sector having also completed a Graduate Certificate in Art History at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration at RMIT (Melbourne).
